I'm starting to appreciate local music more, ever since the IGNITE Music Festival held on the 25th-26th July. Some of the bands really captured my attention, like the energy from Allura, the awesome drummer from Plain Sunset, the wicked beats from Caracal, etc...
Some of the bands, frankly I should say, are as good as those international bands. Sadly local music is not that recognised by our own LOCALS. And the media should put more effort into promoting our local talents, so that eventually it'll be recognised by the world outside. But we have been too caught up with the internationally and well-renowned bands mostly from the West to even care about our culture of music here in Singapore.
But hey, to me, "Being a fan of music means appreciating songs irregardless of origin, language and genre." (copyright by me)
Here's Plain Sunset performing.
And here's a video of Caracal performing one their own original songs. I don't know the song title though...
